The honest difference: insurance
Turo's host share includes its host protection plans. CarsTXT does not insure your car and does not verify renters. On CarsTXT you need your own insurance that covers renting out your car, and you check each renter's license and insurance yourself. Add that cost when you compare.
CarsTXT tends to make sense for owners who already have commercial or rental coverage (small fleets, dealers, rental businesses) and owners whose cars earn more than about $1,000 a month, where a flat fee beats a percentage.

Is CarsTXT cheaper than Turo?
In platform fees, CarsTXT costs less whenever your car earns more than about $1,000 a month compared with Turo's 90% plan, or more than about $500 compared with the 80% plan. But Turo's share includes protection plans, and CarsTXT does not insure your car, so include your own insurance cost.
Does CarsTXT take a commission?
No. Owners pay a flat $99.99 per car only in months it rents, and keep 100% of the rental price.
Can I list on both Turo and CarsTXT?
CarsTXT doesn't stop you. Check Turo's own terms, and keep your calendars in sync to avoid double bookings.
Who checks the renter?
You do. CarsTXT does not verify renters, so ask for the renter's driver's license and insurance before handing over the keys.
